Isaac takes a short uneventful trip - to the Emergency Room
A typical Saturday afternoon. Isaac is jumping across the flowerbed. His feet slip and he comes down HARD on the back of his neck.
He has some brief disorientation and numbness in his legs, but soon is fairly lucid (reciting poetry and pi digits to check his memory).
Dad decides to err in the excess. We call 911 and they arrive, strap Isaac to a stabilizer board and we follow to the ER.
After a few hours and a CAT Scan, the Dr. pronounces no broken bones in head or neck, no sign of concussion or internal bleeding, and they take off the straps and he walks out. Isaac's healthy musculature absorbed the blow with apparently no significant damage. anywhere else. We gratefully take one sore boy home. Isaac is taking over-the-counter NSAI's and plans to do no jumping for a few days. That's all! Through it all, we remarked later, Louise and I felt a peace and lack of panic. It was very relieving to get the good word from the Doc, but it wasn't traumatic. Praise to God!

Dauntless Dimble was the bravest of the bravest of the brave. Dauntless climbed the highest mountain, he explored the deepest cave....
Dauntless diving in the ocean, was beset by hungry sharks, yet the only wounds he suffered were some superficial marks.
Dauntless met a polar bear, on the icy arctic flows. He escaped with minor bruises and a slightly bloody nose....
Then one morning, getting out of bed, Dauntless trip upon the carpet, and he cracked his dauntless head.
ha ha HA!
