tears

isaac said that i should write to you all and tell you that i read   ''the tenth good thing about barney''' with OUT crying..guess that i'm getting old and hardened....

AND ken and terry laura  (nee anderson) spent the eve and nite here .. on their way from baltimore to co. springs.. with a u haul .. they are back from the ivory coast and sudan and iraque (they flew from morocco where their batteries were confiscated at the airport, their conclusion was that they needed batteries in morocco) and solo dios sabe where else..planning to chill in co..  for a while tending to family and friends.. and ken is delightful and cracked digennaro jokes and i missed you all..and terry still looks 30 rather than 48.. and loves you all and looked at pictures of how you had grown and how handsome you are..
and ailene and allan said that they heard aram preach in va.  a couple of weekends ago they were properly impressed. so i vote that aram preach at our next get together so that i can hear him..
how about thanksgiving?  i have begun to lighten ship..if you want it, come and get it.. or call/write and tell me..tools? old water hoses, too rotten to use? bicycle wheels? canning jars? old coveralls?assorted screw drivers? pieces of metal? pipe? a broom maker? water heater tanks? feed trough?  how about school desks from pittsville? house plants? poms de terre? scott plastic? rat wire? blue barrels? buckets with small holes drilled in the side?  dried possum remains?  speaking of possums .. ..
the other nite i heard quite a ruckus outside..something/one .... sounded like someone walking around in the dark in an unfamiliar place and running into things and snorting snuffling about it all .. so bill and i went out to investigate and it was an armidillo.. evidentally cant see, hear or smell and was rooting thru the flower bed (a.c.)and under the deck looking for worms and leaping into the air when ever he crashed into a piece of metal or something.. so we got the broom and tried to encourage him to leave..when we poked him he would leap up into the air a couple of feet and then run a couple of feet and then go back to rooting till we poked him again.. it was a hoot but he was really messing up the flower beds ..like a hog rooting..so we kept poking and he kept jumping till we had shooed him over to the woods..   i understand that to jump into the air is one of his instincts.. how he copes with suprises and that is why the hiway mortality is so high because jumping two feet into the air isnt a good survival tactic when one is startled by a car.
sooooo,  this week's plan is for bill to talk to some big honcho at umr on friday and if all looks good to start in jan... and a separate but parallell plan is to down size and get closer to town.
soooooo, that is the news from one step where isaac and zion are learning to be cheerful and the mate and pate ree-ark are happy as clams...con mucho carino a todos,, tu mama

You know, do you really WANT to sell the farm? Because if it's just the heavy work load, there would be ways to ease that up...like put the cows in the freezer, seed 3/4th of the garden with grass, etc. It would be hard, but you're not going to have that stuff in town anyway. Excuse me, but it seems that for the nature freaks that you guys are, moving away from your walking path and open fields may be hazardous. Would a total overhaul of the farm work as well or better than an actual move? Especially if the first move would just be an intermediary step for a more permanent place....

in answer to your comment about chad and his lack of shaving...the scruffy isn't on purpose, he just hates shaving, thus only getting around to it when absolutly neccissary.
